Mugsie Cygan
Mugsie Cygan, a Packer fan for years and years . . . and years (well, she is 91, but don’t tell her I revealed her age) is currently in the running for the Green Bay Packer Fan Hall of Fame. After being on the ticket waiting list for 20 years, Mugs called the Packer office and said, “I’ve been waiting a long time and I’m in my 70s, so may I please get tickets, so I can attend the games in person.” Before she was able to have season tickets, she’d already made her mark as a fan. Weekly, for years, Mugsie would write the Head Coach and some of the players offering words of encouragement and prayers. Even when the team did not have the Super Bowl in sight, she sent cookies to the staff, coaches and team.
According to former Offensive Line Coach Ernie McMillan (1978-1983), not only should Mugsie be in the Packer Hall of Fame, she should be Green Bay’s Ambassador-at-Large.
Shamrock Club members know Mugsie for her kindness and support of the club during her many years of membership. She is an asset to our club and to the world at large. Good luck, Mugsie.
